Complete this task to create a VM to Hosts Rule for the Supervisor control plane node VMs.

The three Supervisor control plane node VMs must be grouped on the same site. Use a VM to Hosts rule to bind the Supervisor VM Group to one of the sites. Since both sites are active, it does not matter which site hosts the group.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. In vCenter Server, select the vSphere Cluster object where Supervisor is enabled.
  2. Select Configure > Configuration > VM/Host Rules > Add.
  3. Configure the VM to Hosts.
    1. Name: Enter a name for the VM to Hosts rule, such as: svcp-VmHostRule
    2. Enable rule: Yes (checked)
    3. Type: Select Virtual Machines to Hosts from the menu
    4. VM Group: Select the Supervisor VM Group (such as svcp-VmGroup) and select Should run on hosts in group
    5. Host Group: Select either of the Host Groups, such as site1-HostGroup
    6. Click OK
