Complete this task to create a VM Group for the control plane VMs for each TKG Service cluster.

For each TKG Service cluster, create a VM Group comprising its control plane node VMs. If the cluster has a single control plane node, you still need to add it to a group so you can bind it to a site, which is the next task in the workflow.
Note: Repeat this procedure for each TKG Service cluster you provision in the vSAN stretched cluster topology.

Prerequisites

In addition, this task assumes you have provisioned a TKG Service cluster.

Procedure

  1. In vCenter Server, select the vSphere Cluster object where Supervisor is enabled.
  2. Select Configure > Configuration > VM/Host Groups > Add.
  3. Configure the VM Group for the TKG cluster control plane VMs.
    1. Name: Enter the name for the VM Group, such as: tkgs-cluster1-cp-VmGroup
    2. Type: Select VM Group from the menu
    3. Members: Click Add and select each cluster control plane node VM
Note: The interface displays up to 15 VMs, in alphabetical order. If you do not see the cluster control plane VMs, enter an appropriate string in the filter search field.
Note: Make sure you are selecting the control plane nodes and not the worker nodes. Control plane nodes do not include "worker" in the name.
    4. Click OK to add the cluster control plane VMs to the tkgs-cluster1-cp-VmGroup
